Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Bedrock Hermosa Beach Concrete website and any work you ask us to quote or do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You can still call us at (424) 414-1585 with questions before you decide anything.
What we do
Bedrock Hermosa Beach Concrete is a concrete contractor in Hermosa Beach, CA. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, pool decks, garage floors, retaining walls, footings and slab foundations, and we do decorative work, cutting and foundation raising. The home page lists every service and the cities we work in, and our About page tells you more about our crew.
What the site says about a service is general information. It isn't a promise about your job. The scope of your job is whatever your written estimate or contract says.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates with no obligation, because we can't price concrete work properly until we've seen the site, the slope, the access and what the old slab sits on. Your estimate lists the work we've agreed to do and the price for it.
Some conditions only show up once the old concrete is out, such as soft or wet ground under the slab, buried roots, old footings or pipes. If we find something that changes the work, we'll stop, show you, and agree any change in writing with you before we do it. We won't add charges you haven't approved.
An estimate holds for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have moved, so we may need to update it.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We'll give you a start date and an expected timeline when you book. Concrete depends on the weather, the ground and material deliveries, so rain, extreme heat, supplier delays or problems found during demolition can move a pour date. We'll tell you as soon as we know and reschedule with you.
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength before it can take weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk and drive on your slab, and you agree to keep people, pets and vehicles off it until then. Damage from early use isn't covered by our work.
If you need to cancel or move your job, tell us as early as you can. Your written agreement says whether any deposit is refundable and what costs you owe for materials already ordered or work already done.
Payment
The payment schedule, including any deposit and when the balance is due, is set in your written estimate or contract. Payment is due on the dates shown there.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until the account is current. We'll talk with you before we do that.
Permits and your property
Some concrete work needs a permit from the city. Your written agreement will say who is responsible for getting it, and you agree not to ask us to start work that needs a permit before it's in place.
You confirm that you own the property or have the owner's permission for the work, and that you've told us about anything we should know, such as buried lines, sprinkler pipes, property line questions or HOA rules. We'll call for utility marking before we dig where that's needed, but we can't answer for private lines nobody told us about.
Our guarantee and what concrete can and can't do
Bedrock Hermosa Beach Concrete is licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work with satisfaction guaranteed on every job. If something about the work we did isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it.
Concrete is a natural material, and small hairline cracks are normal. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, and we prepare the base so the slab sits on firm ground, but no contractor can promise a slab that never cracks. Color, texture and finish can also vary slightly from samples and from one pour to the next.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from early use before curing is done, heavy loads the slab wasn't built for, ground movement, tree roots, drainage changes made after we leave, de-icing or harsh chemicals, or work done by others. Apart from what we put in writing, the site and our services come without other warranties, to the extent California law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the extent California law allows, Bedrock Hermosa Beach Concrete's liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway during a delay.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under California law that can't be waived by agreement.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with anything, please talk to us first, because most problems get sorted out quickly once we're both looking at the slab. You can reach us through our Contact page or at (424) 414-1585.
If we can't settle it between us, we'll both try mediation in good faith before going to court. Any case that still needs a court will be heard in Los Angeles County, California.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies. A change won't alter a written agreement we've already signed with you unless we both agree to it.
